The Cotswolds offers so much to so many different people all year round. Whether you are simply looking for peace and quiet in a stunning part of the countryside or action and adventure, Hill Farm Cottage is for you.
Walkers will find themselves just a few hundred meters from the Cotswold Way itself. It meanders around the Peak under which the cottage perches and then curls around the Cotswold Escarpment towards Cheltenham or across the Painswick Hills to Stroud. There are also many more options for short walks, half-day walks - stop for lunch at a local pub - and walk the woods on the way home.
For those who love to ride horses, we can put you in touch with riding stables so that you can experience mile after mile of beautiful bridle paths.
If fishing is your thing, the local reservoirs - and the Severn and Wye themselves - offer suberb fly fishing and well-stocked, challenging coarse lakes are dotted throughout the area.

For those who love wildlife, the cottage sits within an area of outstanding natural beauty and is largely undisturbed. Wild deer graze in the fields and in the woods around the cottage and birds of prey hunt overhead. The badger's dens behind the cottage really should not be missed and we will arrange a private badger watch, just for your benefit.
The views across the valley are stunning and for those who simply want peace and quiet or enjoy the pleasures of photography or painting, then the country-side around the cottage could not be more peaceful or inspiring.
Mountain Bikers will find miles of wooded lanes, paths and un-marked trails across the face of the Cotswold Escarpment.
Children will love the Cotswolds too. You can never have too much of farm parks, wildlife parks, swimming pools, ski slopes and caves to explore. For those of you who want to be out and about, the area abounds with places to go and to visit, whatever your age. Take a look at the selection on our Local Information page. |
